Rroutine eye exams can detect vision problems, eye diseaseS, and systemic health conditions. Our Doctor of Optometry will perform several important tests during your routine exam. These tests are done to determine your vision correction for glasses/contacts (a "refraction"), but also to evaluate the overall health of your eyes. In addition to routine refractions and contact lens fittings, our Optometrist screens for serious eye diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and dry eyes, and determines a course of treatment if necessary.
We recommend annual, and thorough, eye examinations as part of routine primary care. Certain eye disesase are asymptomatic, and can be easily treated if diagnosed early. www.thevisioncouncil.org
